This crawlspace upgrade project in Issaquah wasn't so much about aesthetics as it was about safety and utility. We started by extending the upper storage area for better function and safety. We then added a walkway along the west wall. Next, we cut out 10 additional vents and screens to add ventilation and natural light. We also treated a few small areas of rotted wood on the north side of the house, in addition to four 6x6 posts supporting the deck at its base. Then we fixed a lopsided doorway that involved re-squaring the rough opening and then reinstalling the frame and trim, then caulking and painting. A stretch of stairs were added to the north side and continued west along the north wall with a landing halfway up. We can now affirm that this is the safest, most productive crawl space in the Puget Sound region!
