At Handyman Rescue Team, we take neglected rental units and transform them into beautiful, functional spaces—like a home renovation fairy godmother with power tools! This Seattle rental unit was in need of some serious TLC, so we rolled up our sleeves and got to work.
Bathroom Remodel – From Drab to Fab
We started by evicting the outdated pedestal sink, clunky medicine cabinet, and acrylic shower kit that had seen better decades. The bathroom door also had to go—it was time for a fresh start. We built a solid frame for the new shower, ran proper venting (because no one likes a steamy mess), and installed a new vanity, sink, and medicine cabinet that actually belonged in this century. The pièce de résistance? A semi-frameless bi-fold shower door that makes this once-cramped bathroom feel sleek and modern.
Kitchen Upgrades – Because the ’80s Called…
Out went the dated countertops, backsplash, and that ancient sink that had more water stains than a shipwreck. We modernized the cabinets with new panels and toe kicks, installed sleek door hinges, and even threw in a new microwave—because everyone deserves the luxury of reheating leftovers in style. Wiring was updated (safety first!), and we even made room for a future microwave cabinet.
Door & Trim Installation – Let’s Open Things Up
Four new prehung doors, a brand-new kitchen exterior door, and updated trim throughout the unit. Bonus: we enlarged the door openings because no one should have to squeeze through like Indiana Jones dodging a temple trap.
The Finishing Touches
Outlets and switches got a facelift, new baseboard heaters were installed, ceiling fans replaced the sad, single-bulb lights, and all necessary drywall repairs were made. After a final sweep (and hauling away what seemed like a mountain of debris), this rental unit was ready for its grand reveal.
Another rescue mission complete—Seattle renters, you’re welcome!
