Exterior Siding Replacement

A homeowner in Seattle contacted Handyman Rescue Team after discovering water leaking into their kitchen through the south-facing wall of their house. Upon inspection, we identified significant damage to the existing wood siding and recommended full replacement to prevent further interior issues.

Our team began by demolishing approximately 800 square feet of compromised wood siding. Once the old material was removed, we prepared the surface beneath, installing new underlayment and carefully applying flashing and flashing tape around all windows to ensure a watertight seal.

We then installed HardieBoard planks—known for their durability and resistance to the Pacific Northwest’s wet climate—followed by trim around all windows and corners for a clean, finished look. High-quality caulking was applied to seal all seams and joints, protecting the home from future moisture intrusion.

The project concluded with a full exterior paint job to match the home’s original color and a thorough cleanup, including the removal and hauling of all construction debris.

Thanks to this comprehensive siding replacement, the homeowner’s kitchen and interior walls are now fully protected from the elements, and the home’s curb appeal has been restored with a fresh, modern finish.
